HELP believe that in order to sustain a tenancy and become part of your local community you need to get into a meaningful activity and so we support young people to gain the skills, experience and qualifications to prepare them for the job market.

HELP Pathway to employment Programme includes:

Employment Programme
A 12 week workshop based programme including drop in. which includes opportunities to -

Encourage the desire to achieve
Recognise existing skills and learn new ones
Tackle barriers of self esteem and motivation
Promote active and practical job search

including,
  • Setting Personal Targets
  • Communication skills
  • Outdoor team building experience
  • Basic IT skills
  • Call Centre Training
  • Creating a CV
  • Meeting employers
  • Certificates in Food hygiene, First Aid, Customer Care, Health and Safety and Moving and Handling.
  • A 4 week environmental project in partnership with the local community
  • Interview skills
  • A final presentation of certificates.
Building Blocks work experience
Following on from the induction programme young people are encouraged to take part in a work experience opportunity that matches their chosen career path or sector.

HELP Community Taskforce
HELP Community taskforce gives young people the opportunity to engage in paid work within their local community for between one year and eighteen months at the living wage.

Our Skills Development and Job Club drop in is available in both Dunoon and Rothesay
